Starting from Landhaus Vesper you can take many trips by foot, by bike or by car in de nearby vicinity or further away.
 
Lichenfels-Münden is situated in the very heart of the Waldecker Land. West and north west of this area you can find the even better known Sauerland. At this page we listed a small selection of daytrips. For your convenience we list them in alphabetic order. This really is a very small pick from what the Sauerland and The  Waldecker Land have to offer. Actually there is a multitude of possibilities. · Arolsen [45 km]
  In this city queen Emma was born. She lived in the
  Residenzschloss. This is opened daily. Nearby is the Twistesee.
  You can take a foot tour around the lake in approximately two
  hours.
· Berleburg - Bad [40 km]
 
Here you can find the Schloss Berleburg where the Dutch Queen
  Beatrix and Prince Claus were engaged. You can visit the castle
  twice a day. At 10:30 uur and 14:30 (C.E.T.) you can take a
  guided tour. 
· Bruchhausen
[35 km]
 
West of Willingen there is a rocky landscape which you can
  visit by foot. You can also use the car to go up there. The
  summit is called Bruchhausersteine. Here you have a
  beautiful panoramic  view of the region.
· Edersee/ Waldeck [25 km]
 
On top of the hill surrounding the lake lies the castle (Schloss
  Waldeck) which has a museum. Up here you have an excellent
  view of the Edersee. Arround an on the Edersee there are
  several ways of recreation: rent a little boat or take a tour with
  a pleasure steamer. At the barrage there is a great aquapark
  with all kinds  of games for children to play with water. When
  you want to make  a walk through the forrest and can handle
  the climb you could go to the Edersee Wildpark by foot. The
  park is situated on top of the slopes surrounding the Edersee.
  The 'wildpark' has a bird of prey show everyday and from up
  here you have another beautiful  view of the Edersee and the
  Edersee barrage. Of course you can also go to the Edersee
  Wildpark by car.
· Frankenberg [11 km]
  The older part of the city (located on a hill) has many houses
  with timber framing, an interesting church and the city hall which
  is well known for its many towers.

Fritzlar [50 km]
  This old city has an almost intact town-wall system. There are
  quite some beautiful churches, a gothic town hall and a very
  cosy market place. This town is sometimes called: 'city of
  towers'.
· Haina [10 km]
 
East of Frankenberg you can find Haina. It has a 900 years old
  monastery. You can visit it on sundays for a guided tour at 1100
  or 1500 hours.
· Kassel [80 km]
 
This city is specially famous for it's Park Wilhelmshöhe and
  Herkules. On wednesdays and sundays you can visit the
  magnificent water spectacle scene. The water starts high at
  'Herkules' (800 steps up) to flow throught the park and end in a
  big fountain. This starts approximately at 14:30 hours and will
  last for at least one hour. It is wise to visit Herkules first and
  then take one of the parking lots near the park. Anyhow: a very
  nice walk and a magnificent event.

Korbach [27 km]
  Korbach has an old city district with many timber frame buildings
  and a town wall. There are two churches you can visit. One of
  them has a tower which is open to the public.
· Marburg [50 km]

 
A university city which is very suitable to spend a day. There is a
  lot to be seen: timber frame buildings, alleyways, museums,
  churches and don't forget the Kaiser Wilhelm tower. The tower
  is 36 meters high and gives a splendid view of the city.
· Medebach [7 km]
 
Here you have very nice shopping centres. In the Netherlands
  Medebach probably is known for its Grand Dorado holiday resort.
  You can enter the recreation area free of charge. Many
  attractions though like the swiming area and the bowling hall
  are not free to visit. Between Medebach and Goddelsheim there
  is a trout hatchery. When you have a license you can fish here.
  You also can simply buy the fish.
· Ramsbeck
[35 km]
 
Here you have an old ore mine. You can visit this mine to see
  how mining was done in the old days.
· Wildungen - Bad [35 km]
  This is a curing resort with carbon mineral and ferruginous
  springs. In the old district there is a church from the fourteenth
  century and 'Schloss Friedrichstein'.
· Willingen [30 km]
  A  typical tourist city with many shops and hotels. There is a
  beautiful swimming pool and an ice arena which is open winter
  and summer. You can visit the glass works or the brewery.
  Nearby is the Diemelsee which surely is worth a visit!

This merely is a small selection of a large number of tourist attractions. Whenever visiting any of these its worth not taking the main road but use the little roads instead. You can drive a lot more quit and you can be sure to see a lot of lovely little towns and villages.
